As a Onder Stroom contribution to the Artist Run Field School, I designed and created a flag for Meer Meer (Artist Run Field School).
I initiated the creation of the flag of Meer Meer during the Artist Run Field School, a ten-day camping and learning environment for (and by) artists.
The flag was a participatory imaginary flag for Meer Meer, the imaginary place where the Artist Run Field School took place. With the help of the artists present at the camp, we created a symbolic flag representing the time and place at Artist Run Field School. Everyone at the camp could participate by sewing their own patch and adding something which was his or her.
The flag didn’t get finished during the camp due to its size and the scope of the flag, but I completed it later on.
Artist Run Field School (ARFS) is a project organized by In De Ruimte in collaboration with Het Bos, Onder Stroom, Het Entrepot, and Culture Commons Quest Office, and realized with the support of the Flemish Government.
